Yerba Santa Glycoproteins (Lactobacillus/Eriodictyon Californicum Ferment Extract) Yerba Santa Glycoprotein  is a unique fermented material that was designed as a natural alternative to synthetics such as silicone elastomer solutions. Yerba Santa Glycoprotein is created by fermenting Yerba Santa (Eriodictyon Californicum) with lactobacillus lactis.  Yerba Santa is a desertic plant that is rich in mucopolysaccharides and glycoproteins.  By fermenting the leaves of the plant we are capable of breaking down many of the complex bio-molecules found naturally in the plant.  We then isolate the more beneficial components such as the naturally occurring glycoproteins which provide unique emollient, moisturizing  and soothing properties, making suitable for skin and hair care formulations..
